Experience You Can Trust.
PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) chemicals have been used in thousands of products and are widely distributed in the environment. Unfortunately PFAS are found in the blood of most Americans, are now being associated with many health problems including kidney and testicular cancers, thyroid issues, developmental and reproductive problems, and reduced immunity.

What You Need To Know About PFAS
PFAS chemicals were commonly used in firefighter foam to help put out flammable liquid fires, especially in aviation and military settings. The chemicals made the foam more effective by creating a barrier that could suppress fires more quickly. Beyond firefighting foam, PFAS were also used in products like nonstick cookware (e.g., Teflon), water- and stain-resistant fabrics, food packaging, and even cosmetics, because of their ability to repel water, oil, and stains.
Unfortunately, these chemicals can be harmful to health. Their widespread use has led to contamination of water supplies and environmental concerns, as well.
PFAS are often called “forever chemicals” because they don’t break down in the environment or the human body, leading to potential long-term exposure, which has been linked to a variety of health issues including the following:
- Cancer
- Liver Damage
- Weakened Immune Function
- Developmental Problems in Children
- Increased Cholesterol Levels
